SURFING DOWN THE STREETS OF ALMADA
05 MAY 2007 -- Preparing to ride the waves of Costa de Caparica, the Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championships paraded through the city of Almada, in a grand and colourful opening ceremony. The host country, Portugal, closed the parade. A major highlight is the new record in participation at these “Surfing  Olympic Games”: 261 surfers, representing 28 states.

COUNTDOWN TO THE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
31 National teams will parade through the streets of Almada on May 5th
01 MAY 2007 -- The arrival of the first delegations to Portugal marks the start of the countdown to the Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championships. 31 countries and 400 athletes are expected for the first ever outing of the competition in the Old World waves. On Saturday - May 5th - surfing will invade the streets of Almada.

THE FUTURE OF SURF TO BE PLAYED IN PORTUGAL
19 APRIL 2007 -- 30 national delegations have already confirmed that they will be taking part in the Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championships, a record that has raised expectations even higher. In the full spirit of the Olympic Games, the competition begins on 4 May in Portugal and confirming that surfing growth as major sport for young people all over the world.

THE QUIKSILVER ISA WJSC IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER
16 APRIL 2007 -- During the last few weeks, the ISA offices has received a large number of confirmations from different nations around the world that will participate in the Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championships –WJSC- in Costa de Caparica, Portugal, from May 4 to 13.
If all goes on well, a total of 31 countries would be breaking the record of participating nations in the history of the WJSC. And as it happens at all the International Surfing Association – ISA – events, comradeship and friendship from all the countries will be present at the shores of Costa de Caparica.

WORLD SURF IS BACK IN PORTUGAL
2007 Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championships in Costa de Caparica
13 MARCH 2007 -- Portugal is once again on the route of world sports events. From May 4 the country often seen as the European surfer's paradise will receive the Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championships. 30 National Delegations are expected in Costa de Caparica beach located just a few minutes away from Lisbon.

May 4-13, 2007 in Costa de Caparica, Portugal
06 FEBRUARY 2006 -- The Federação Portuguesa de Surf ("FPS"), the International Surfing Association's National Governing Body for surfriding in Portugal, has been awarded the rights to host and organize the 2007 Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championships.
